LIVESTOCK DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN THE SOUM PROVINCE
NATIONAL ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION CENTRE FOR THE LOUMBILA LIVESTOCK BREEDING PIT
The purpose of this breeding development project in Soum Province was to increase animal output and breeder revenues. It was one of FSE’s very first achievements and remains a recognised reference both in Burkina Faso and other countries in the West African sub-region.
We equipped the Loumbila national centre with specific equipment for improving bovine genetics via artificial insemination. Animal productivity is linked to genetic features and the selection of good breeding animals is key to developing livestock breeding.
